My #101in1001 challenge 40% update

Day Zero Project

I finish this challenge on July 29th 2020 and absolutely horrified that I am yet to complete even half of the challenges. As I have explained though, life takes its twists and turns and you have no idea where it is going to take you, which can be part of the fun, but haha also a bit of a nightmare.

This has been a really fun section of the challenge because it has incorporated a HUGE holiday which helped tick off quite a few tasks taking me into the next update.

Looking at my remaining challenges – health, exercise and fitness has been and always will be my sticking point – heeeeeeelp!

Here is a record of ten challenges I have managed to tick off.

Completed Tasks – continued

Play Poohsticks with Isla #8

My favourite little person in one of my favourite places, what could be better? A lovely afternoon was spent in Ashdown Forest. Read about it here.

Make 50th Birthday Plans #12

Well and completely truly ticked off. I have been planning my 50th birthday celebrations for the past three years. I knew EXACTLY what I wanted to do and that was return to Hong Kong where we spend many wonderful years of our lives. To read all my Hong Kong Posts click here.
The days in HK were well spent. I was very happy not to have a big party to mark my half century. I did have a small gathering at our local restaurant in town La Farola which suited me absolutely fine.

Rekindle an old friendship #15

Wahooooo! A Great Challenge! Was thrilled with the way this turned out. I was worried about going to Hong Kong in the summer because most of our friends who are still there would go home for the summer. However we did catch a few people before they left, and we had a wonderful meal with my old colleagues. Read more here

Grow a vegetable I haven’t grown before #40

Arghhhh my garden, my garden, my garden, as explained previously it is the bane of my life. Everything dies! I planted lots of stuff this year, onions, leeks, carrots, but they didn’t take. Our raspberries as usual did very well but I can honestly say that a few meager beans were the best that I got. When I retire I shall have more time – hahaha.

Learn 5 new skills on Photoshop #62

Still not an expert but I love to try new things. Photoshop is a softwareee package I would love to learn but to be proficient would take me forever I did however learn a few little tricks. Read about it here

Watch a Sunrise and a Sunset on the same day #78

I see the sunrise and sunset often….and I mean often…. but usually I am driving and am not able to capture it . I was very pleased with my two photos taken on Saturday 14th September. It had been beautiful weather that day and I think that shows. No filters were used.

Visit a foreign city not visited before (preferably Paris) #80

Well, it wasn’t Paris. In fifty years, I have driven through it twice but never stopped. But this year I went to Berlin and INCREDIBLE city, we did so much in our three days, I had to cover it in two posts, here and here.

Travel outside Europe #81

Boom! Need I say more 🙂 I have lots to say, many many more posts to come #watchthisspace ….

Drive a different mode of Transport #91

An hilarious morning thanks to Segway Events. Read all about it here….

Go to a recording of a TV Show #92

I had a great time watching one of my favourite TV shows live. The trip to Pinewood studios was a great experience – read more here.
