Learn 5 new things on Indesign #101in1001 #63

Indesign is a clever little programme created by the clever people at Adobe (those who made photoshop). It is what professionals use to create, posters, leaflets, newsletters etc. A very powerful package and I love using it. Saying that I get very frustrated that I only use a fraction of the functions that it has on offer.

I was first introduced to Indesign when I was covering a maternity leave as a temp job. There I learnt the basics but it was when I started using the package for my other jobs that I had the time to hone and develop further skills.

Sort and Play LPs #101in1001 #50

I first started to be obsessed with showtunes in the 80s. Being a teenager in the Midlands it was rare I visited the West End so buying cast recording and soundtracks became my hobby.

I collected as many as I could some new, some second hand. I built up a decent collection and played them constantly in my bedroom and had my own ‘songs from the show’ hospital radio show.

The ultimate ‘Me-time’

This is Covid lockdown week number 14.

Thankfully for most people now, there is a light at the end of the tunnel. Most workplaces are running with more opening up (hopefully) in the next couple of weeks, the amount of people you can meet is slowly increasing and cases are still falling so the risk of catching the coronavirus is lessening.

In the early days of this pandemic the first “lock down“ I was full of optimism that I would cope better than I did with SARS in Hong Kong.  I had lots of things to do planned, I had communication, I had my family all safe at home and, we have a nice environment to be in.

My #101in1001 challenge 50% update

Day Zero Project

This is pants pants pants. First I had to take six months out of my challenge because of family problems, then money was a constraint, then my work increased so I had no time, and now… Covid!

I was destined never to finish these challenges.

I have until the end of July I can do some of the things at home, *watch this space* but chances are I shall be completing even less challenges than the first time. Ho hum.

Here is a record of ten challenges I have managed to tick off.

My #101in1001 challenge 40% update

Day Zero Project

I finish this challenge on July 29th 2020 and absolutely horrified that I am yet to complete even half of the challenges. As I have explained though, life takes its twists and turns and you have no idea where it is going to take you, which can be part of the fun, but haha also a bit of a nightmare.

This has been a really fun section of the challenge because it has incorporated a HUGE holiday which helped tick off quite a few tasks taking me into the next update.

Looking at my remaining challenges – health, exercise and fitness has been and always will be my sticking point – heeeeeeelp!

Here is a record of ten challenges I have managed to tick off.

Watch a sunrise and a sunset on the same day #101in1001 #78

See a sunrise and a sunset on the same day.

Not much of a post this one – just logging that I have completed yet another challenge!

On a swim run I often see the sunrise particularly on a winter’s day. Capturing it as another matter.

On a recent swim run, my son and I were driving along in the dark and the moon was glorious. As we parked the sky was getting lighter so I decided to wait around and take a picture. The first picture was taken at Pavilion in the Park, Horsham. There are no filters applied, the sky was absolutely gorgeous.
