My #101in1001 challenge 60% update

Day Zero Project

The first time I did a 101 challenge, I manged 60% of them, this time it is a miracle I have got as far as I have, the Coronavirus lockdown put the final nail in the coffin, although saying that, there was no way I would have completed them, I just wanted to beat the score from last time.

Neeeearly there.

.

Read ten books suggested by friends #101in1001 #56

During my last #101in1001 challenge I vowed to read every book that my book club stated cover to cover. This meant I ended up reading some real dross. Another problem was that we had book club every six weeks so I had to complete a book during that time or I got behind. Later on, we stopped using the excuse ‘book club’ as very few of us read and we just socialise instead.

Instead for this challenge, I decided to read 10 books that were recommended by friends, hopefully meaning that they would be at least halfway decent. I don’t read very quickly (Only a few couple of pages per night) so I don’t want to waste my time reading things that are not appealing in a more manageable timeframe.

Learn 5 new things on Indesign #101in1001 #63

Indesign is a clever little programme created by the clever people at Adobe (those who made photoshop). It is what professionals use to create, posters, leaflets, newsletters etc. A very powerful package and I love using it. Saying that I get very frustrated that I only use a fraction of the functions that it has on offer.

I was first introduced to Indesign when I was covering a maternity leave as a temp job. There I learnt the basics but it was when I started using the package for my other jobs that I had the time to hone and develop further skills.

Sort and Play LPs #101in1001 #50

I first started to be obsessed with showtunes in the 80s. Being a teenager in the Midlands it was rare I visited the West End so buying cast recording and soundtracks became my hobby.

I collected as many as I could some new, some second hand. I built up a decent collection and played them constantly in my bedroom and had my own ‘songs from the show’ hospital radio show.

Visit 5 Museums / Art Galleries #101in1001 #77

A least 6 have been completed. I am pretty impressed with that! A real mixture of places as well. We are so lucky living in a country that is so rich in culture and history. Taking the time to visit and learn is one of my favourite things to do.

Here are the places we went during the 101 challenges timeframe.

My #101in1001 challenge 50% update

Day Zero Project

This is pants pants pants. First I had to take six months out of my challenge because of family problems, then money was a constraint, then my work increased so I had no time, and now… Covid!

I was destined never to finish these challenges.

I have until the end of July I can do some of the things at home, *watch this space* but chances are I shall be completing even less challenges than the first time. Ho hum.

Here is a record of ten challenges I have managed to tick off.
